What is unique about this clan is that they have preserved the history and culture of the Philippines. </span></div><table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; We rode a carabao pulled cart to the river, where we ate lunch with our feet immersed in the flowing river, in front of a beautiful waterfall, on a  bamboo table with banana leaf plates. The food was authentic Filipino.

One of the Escuderos was an antique buff, hunter and collector of varied items such as coins, butterflies, insects, shrunken heads and also including the presidents and first wives outfits from their inaugurations for the past fifty years.
On site there are about 300 homes for workers (1,000). They were given their land to build their own homes.
The Japanese occupied the property during WW2 and there are ghosts galore, or so I've been told.

There are many religious icons, statues and floats ,made from silver, gold and ivory from the past centuries, filling two floors of the pictured building which was a built as a replica of the oldest Church in Manilla, St. Agustin.
We were not allowed to take pictures inside, but believe me, there's nothing like it anywhere.

Sorry for the late post on this,  I had computer issues on Boracay (coming next)
